Knowing Our Client
In much the same way a surgeon would consider it highly unethical to carry out a critical procedure without first knowing everything there is to know about his or her patient’s history, allergies and existing medication, we would be remiss in our fiduciary duties if we were to prescribe a course of action affecting our clients’ financial wellbeing without first making ourselves fully conversant with their existing arrangements, their appetite for investment risk and their goals.
We commit all the necessary time to finding out what makes clients “tick” financially so that we have the best chance of achieving the outcome they desire.
Identifying Risk Appetite
This is, by far, the most important consideration when dealing with investment over any length of time. The degree of risk an investor is willing to expose his or her capital to has a direct correlation to the potential return on investment. Though it is a little simplistic, the general consensus is that the higher the risk, the greater the potential for reward and, conversely, a corresponding potential for loss.
Everitt Lawson Group, like many other investment managers, spends every waking moment looking for ways to minimize risk while simultaneously maximizing reward and though we have not eliminated risk, we certainly have found ways to mitigate its effects on our clients’ portfolios.
Once we have identified your appetite for risk, we can plan accordingly and factor in your objectives and the amount of time you wish to remain invested. Often, clients have high reward expectations and low risk appetite. We help them to understand that compromises must be made in order to reach a balanced solution they can live with.
What Is a Portfolio?
A portfolio is the vehicle within which all your investments are held collectively. Here at Everitt Lawson Group, we devote considerable time and effort to ensuring that each client’s portfolio is flexible, efficient and fit-for-purpose. Everitt Lawson Group portfolios are typically comprised of two core assets. These are Equities (Stocks & Shares) and Fixed Income (Government or corporate bonds).
We are also able to hold hard assets or commodities like precious metals and exchange traded products exposed to soft commodities like wheat, sugar, palm oil and others for those of our clients who express an interest in them.
By understanding what motivates our clients, we can help them tailor the combination of investments in their portfolios to most closely reflect the way they feel about risk while ensuring their investment objectives are achieved in the time horizon they have set.
We offer a comprehensive suite of services to our esteemed clientele, each one flexible enough to be tailored to their exacting requirements.
There are two key ways in which we are able to represent our clients in the financial markets. Irrespective of which you choose, you can rest assured that Everitt Lawson Group will do its utmost to ensure that you receive the highest level of service and the best possible guidance.
Everitt Lawson Group has a broad spectrum of clients; from ABC1 individuals and institutions to ultra-high net worth individuals and their families (UNHWs). For many of these UHNWs, management of wealth and the effective administration of investment portfolios is the equivalent of a full-time job. Our family office can lighten the load.
